HOW TO: Start your own website/blog for Free


This article is meant for people out there who doesn’t have a blog now and looking forward to start their first blog. Creating a website or blog was a difficult task in the past, however with growth of technology, this is simplified. You can now create  blogs for free on various platforms such as Blogger.com, WordPress.com, Livejournal, Xanga.com, Blogr.com, Shoutpost.com and more.  I prefer Blogger.com and WordPress.com over the others for newbie who wants to become problogger and make money online.

In this tutorial, I will explain you how to to create your own personal/professional blog using Blogger.com.

Here is the Step by step guide to start a free Blog :

Step 0: Go to the website: https://www.blogger.com/start. You will be instructed to sign in. If you have a Google account for other Google services then select (Sign In) and use your existing user id and password. If you do not have a Google account select (Create a Blog). Fill out the quick info requirements to create an account.

Step 1 : Next you will need to name your blog and choose a URL name.Fill in the word verification form and select continue. Don’t worry about the other options right now. [ Note: I suggest creating the URL name first and (Check Availability) as this may influence what you name your blog. ]

Step 2 : The Third step will be pick a template. Don’t be to concerned with the colors and layout, you can change your template later as well if you change your mind. Select (Continue) button to proceed further

Step3 : Now your blog is ready for you. You can start blogging now.  When you select (Start Blogging) you will be taken to a screen where you can start a post. Type whatever you want in the box.This is what will be seen on your blog. If you don’t know what to scribble or write on your pretty clean blog, check this list of 100 Blog Topics You Can Write On

Step 4: At the top of this screen you will find 6 tabs. (Posting), (Comments),(Settings), (Design), (Monetize), (Stats) and (View Blog). (Posting) is where you are now and you would select this tab when you want to post something new. “Settings” applies to features you may want on your blog. (Design) is where you can change your template, fonts and colors, and add gadgets.(Monetize) is where you can find the Google Adsense and other money making ways. (Stats) Provides a basic statistics about your blog. (View Blog) is to get a pick at what your blog looks like.

    thanks for sharing bro, there is also free wordpress blog to get started, where as wordpress is more search engine optimized.

      Hi Bharath

      You are right buddy WordPress is SEO optimized. In case of Blogger.com, we can customize the design and layout of the site but in case of wordpress, we have to pay for it.

      But to get start as a professional blogger, it is best to start with Self-Hosted WordPress Blog/Website :)
