Gmail is the most popular email service but however Yahoo Mail is still the market leader with the more than 250 million users. Google caused a major disruption when they offered nearly unlimited storage capacity of the Gmail account, now it’s more than 9GB storage and counting. Gmail was great at killing spam and really easy to use, was enough to grab a big piece of the free e-mail market – 101 million users.
I feel Yahoo has a better web interface compare to Gmail but I am unable to Yahoo mail much. This article lets you know how to check Gmail Email in Yahoo mailbox. Follow the below steps to do so.
Configure Gmail settings to enable POP:
1) Login to your Gmail account.
2) Click on “Setting” option [Top Right corner]
3) A window will appear where you need to go to “Forwarding and POP / IMAP” tab.
4) From the tab, go to “POP Download” section and click on “Enable POP for all Email”.
Configure Yahoo Mail Settings:
1) Login to your Yahoo Mail account.
2) Click on “Option”, and then “More Options”. A window will appear where you need to click on “Accounts” option on left side.
3) Click on “Add Account” option [top right corner ]
4) Here, give an account name that you would like to identify your Gmail account by. After that give your full name in “From” name box.
5) Now type email address of your Gmail account, in the Email address box. Then in “Receiving Mail” section, select the folder where you want your Gmail emails to be delivered in Yahoo mail. After selecting the folder, provide your Gmail user name and password.
6) Enter “pop.gmail.com” in the “Server” box, .
7) Finaly click on “Save Changes”.
Now you can check Gmail Emails in Yahoo mailbox in the folder that you had selected. These steps would take just a few minutes, do try this procedure and let us know if you have any doubts in the below comment section.

Hi Swamy, my first time in your blog. Just one question, is the POP available for free users? I tried to set up my MS Outlook and I got the message that I had to be a paying member of yahoo to use that POP thingy.

No I am using the old version which seems to be good for me. I have tried with the beta version too. The Yahoo Mail plus will cost you $19.99/year (that’s less than $2/month) so you can avoid graphical ads, get POP access, and more!
