Google has announced an infographic competition. Inspired by what Andrew Johnson and Louis Garcia have done on their site What We Pay For.com, Google is trying to make their own data visualization using the information from the duo’s website. So now, if you have the design and coding capabilities to make an infographic that might win the approval of the judges, you might just be featured on the Google’s Official Blog and much more

Google says:
Every year, Americans fill out income tax forms and make a payment to the IRS. It’s an important civic duty, but it is also a lot of money. Where does it all go? Using data provided by WhatWePayFor.com, we challenge you to create a data visualization that will make it easier for U.S. citizens to understand how the government spends our tax money… A range of media will be accepted: interactive web apps, graphic images, or video.
Google has provides a set of resources to use in your designing or you can check our database of infographics too. What’s most useful is that Andrew and Louis have made the API of their data available for competitors to help them access the tax data from their website.
