How to Sort Gmail Inbox based on Priority

How many of us are familiar about Priority inbox? I think very few. For the rest of the people I would like to share about the Google’s reverse feature which is quite unique to Gmail- the Priority inbox.

What is Priority inbox?

Priority inbox helps in saving your time by sorting your emails based on the importance.it attempts to automatically identify your important incoming messages and separates them out from everything else so that you may deal them first.

How to Customize Priority Inbox

Once you are logged in your Gmail account, you can customize Priority inbox by clicking the gear icon in the upper-right corner of Gmail, and then selecting Gmail settings, and selecting the Priority Inbox tab.

I used this option and I found effective in saving time.  Try this feature and sent your comments about how good it is and how it works out.

Find a configuration that works best for you. If you don’t trust Gmail’s importance ranking quite yet, try setting the top section to show all unread messages, the middle section to show important messages, and the bottom section to show everything else. That way all of your unread messages will be grouped together, and you can decide whether Gmail is correctly identifying your important messages.

Here are the four simple ways, you can use Priority Inbox

  • Create custom importance filters.
  • Create your own labels for different categories and show those in the different sections.
  • Only look at the important messages and check out everything else later.
  • Get back on track when you come back from vacation.
