How to Change Your Apple iPhone Ringtone


Apple iPhone comes with a number of ringtones that you can use for incoming calls, Clock alarms, and the Clock timer. You can also create ringtones in iTunes using songs purchased from the iTunes Store. If you’re one the voices out there who complaining to your colleagues/classmates on why using the same ringtone as yours or you’ve been terribly sick of the default ringtone, afraid not. You can now change it very easily by following the below steps.

How to Change Your Apple iPhone Ringtone

  1. iPhone and iPad only support ringtones format in m4r. So, google the iPhone ringtones and download the ringtone file in m4r. Mobile9.com has many ringtones available for free.
  2. Next, you need to sync the file to your iPhone/iPad. Connect your device and launch the iTunes.
  3. At the iTunes, click on the Ringtones tab on the right. Drag and drop your ringtone file into the list on left.
  4. Then, click on your device (1), and go to the Ringtones tab on top (2). You should able to see the ringtone file which you exported earlier on (3). Click “Apply” button (4) will copy the ringtone to your iPhone.
  5. At your iPhone, go to SettingSoundsRingtones > Select your custom ringtone

Test your ringtone in front of your friends and you can start to brag on how you did this in less than 5 minutes.

    there is a way to create your own custom ringtones using itunes. Sharing the steps below.

    Open iTunes.

    Find the song that you want to make into a ringtone.

    Write down the start and stop times of the portion u want to create the ringtone

    Right-click the song and select “Get Info.”

    Click the “Options” tab.

    Type in the start time of your ringtone in the text box next to “Start Time” in the minutes:seconds (i.e., 2:01) format.

    Type in the end time of your ringtone in the text box next to “Stop Time.” Make sure the ringtone is no more than 30 seconds long.

    Click “OK.”

    Right-click your song again and select “Convert Selection to AAC.” Wait for iTunes to convert your song. It will create a duplicate version.

    Drag and drop the duplicate file to your desktop.

    Replace the m4a extension of your ringtone with m4r.

    Double-click the ringtone file. ITunes will automatically add it to your ringtones folder in your iTunes Music Library.

    Connect your iPhone and sync your ringtones.
