Most people who owns a USB drive has unexpectedly left it plugged into a PC anywhere. Forgetting your USB drive means probably losing all data stored on the drive, it also leaves the data exposed for anybody to view, since very few individuals password protect these units.

USB Alert is reminder software that will play a warning sound and display an on-screen alert every time you issue the shutdown or lock command warningthat you have a USB storage device still connected to the system.

Download the portable version USB Alert and unzip the file’s contents to the root folder of your USB drive.Once set up, from USB Alert’s system-tray icon next to windows clock, you can access all the plugged-in devices. If for some reasons it fails to show USB drives, click Refresh to let it detect them.
