All the Americans’ internet freedom is in serious danger. It all started with SOPA, otherwise known as The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). As per a Wikipedia definition of SOPA.
“The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), also known as H.R.3261, is a bill that was introduced in the United States House of Representatives on October 26, 2011, by Representative Lamar Smith (R-TX) and a bipartisan group of 12 initial co-sponsors. The bill expands the ability of U.S. law enforcement and copyright holders to fight online trafficking in copyrighted intellectual property and counterfeit goods.”
This basically means that the American government is trying to shut down websites such as the Pirate Bay and stop US citizens from using services like Limewire and uTorrent.
AOL, eBay, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Mozilla, Twitter, Yahoo and Zynga delivered a letter to members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives last month that argues SOPA “pose[s] a serious risk to our industry’s continued track record of innovation and job creation, as well as to our nation’s cybersecurity.” They later ran the letter as a full-page ad in The New York Times.

For the average person, the internet might never be the same. This includes internet access from online searches, all the way down to mobile applications. And if you aren’t in the US, once this Act passes, other countries may see it as a reason to pass a law of their own with the same censorship in mind. To help stop SOPA from passing, call your Senator here to tell them why this Act should not go into effect.
Here is a detail infographic from Business Insurance Blog that outlines the bill’s history, how it would work and why some Internet companies oppose it.

This is quite interesting. Never heard of this before – even US tries to enforce such censorships.

Where they simply denied the Govt demands as it plainly tells that they need to ban and remove sites that speaks about congress.
