Simon Ford and his team over at Mbed has created the USB Slingshot for Angry Birds after feeling that the game should in fact be a sport. Instead of using your mouse or trackpad to control the slingshot, you use a real slingshot that connects to your computer.
The Slingshot has an accelerometer to measure the tilt of the controller and has a Rubber stretch sensor to measure that how hard you can pull it back before mapping those movements onto the appropriate mouse controls via USB.
You can find out full details on how this USB Angry Birds slingshot controller was made, and there are also detailed instructions on how to make your own over at Mbed.
