Wickr App Lets You Send Both Encrypted And Self-Destructing Messages

Text messages are great, but as soon as they’re sent we don’t have control on it. Even trusted recipients of a message, photo or video can leak secrets, carelessly forward messages, let them fall into the wrong hands, or even betray the sender and dig up evidence years later.

A team of security experts have created Wickr — a messaging client that offers ‘military grade’ encryption, making it the most secure messaging app for iOS.

Wickr allows users to send texts, photos and videos to anyone who is using the service but it completely wipes out metadata like device info, location and any other personal information from the videos and images sent.

Furthermore, there’s ‘self destruct timer’ which, as the name suggests will delete anything sent. The app overwrites the deleted data with so much unreadable text that it becomes impossible to be forensically recovered.
