Apple is few days away from announcing its next-generation iPhone. If you’re already shuddering at the thought of paying out for the new device, Apple can help you offset the cost by offering you up to $345/£300 for your device, depending on its condition.

Apple is offering up to $345 on an Apple gift card to any user wishing to recycle their iPhone 4S handset.

Apple already offer the recycling service to owners of the iPhone 3G, 3GS and 4, but the 4S recently appeared on the list of devices recently

Using Apple’s Reuse and Recycle program, you are able to select the model, color and condition of your iPhone 4S (and other Apple devices) from the online wizard, which will then output a price that it believes your device is worth.

To be in with the chance of being offered top dollar for your device, it needs to be in good condition (no damage, cracks, etc.) and a more premium model, such as the White 64GB iPhone 4S model. The black 16GB model will get you $285 from Apple, which isn’t a world away from the $345 maximum.

Also available to UK residents, a White 64GB 4S will get you £300, with a Black 16GB fetching £260.
