‘Need For Speed: Most Wanted’ – Soon to Hit iOS and Android Devices [October 30th]

This console generation’s second Need for Speed: Most Wanted was shown off at EA’s E3 press conference in Los Angeles. Ports of the game for iPad, iPhone, and Android were confirmed after the event via press release.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted, on consoles at least, is being developed by Criterion. It will feature an open world, licensed vehicles, and of course, races, chases and dramatic crashes.

“Criterion is shaking up the franchise with Need for Speed Most Wanted,” Criterion producer Matt Webster said in a press release. “This is Most Wanted for a new generation of players. We’ve brought everything we know about racing, chasing and exploration and smashed them together in a highly connected open world automotive experience.”

“Whether driving solo or racing with friends in our amazing new multiplayer experience, Autolog fires up competition out of everything as players compete to be most wanted amongst their friends,” he said.

EA didn’t provide any hard, mechanical details about Most Wanted mobile in either its conference or its press release. If we had to guess, we’d say that the mobile version will be a boiled down take, similar to the other Need for Speed games that have appeared on iPhone and iPad. But that’s just a guess.

The console version of Most Wanted is slated to hit October 30, 2012. No word on pricing just yet. [Source: Need For Speed]
