Pinterest App now available for Android, iPad and iPhone [Download]

With around 23 million members, Pinterest is now the third most popular social networking site, with only Twitter and Facebook ahead of it.

Pinterest is a virtual bulletin board, or “pin board” if you will, which explains part of the app’s name. The remaining part of the name explains what you are pinning to the board which is all of the things that interest you. And like other social type applications, you are leaving your board open for the world to read. See an article or find a picture online that you want to pin on your board? Simply hit the “pin it” button that you install on your browser and its done along with a sourcelink to credit the original website.

Pinterest has launched a new range of mobile apps, for Google’s Android platform and also Apple’s iOS platform for the iPhone and iPad, and the apps are now available.

Pinterest for Android, iPad & iPhone

News of the Android and iPad apps was announced in a post on Pinterest’s official blog.

“When we think about what we’re designing at Pinterest, we think about giving everyone a place to dream, plan, and prepare for the things in their lives. The Pinterest apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android are about enabling you to do just that, not seated in front of a computer or at the office, but wherever go as you live your life.

Because the Pinterest community is the most important part of Pinterest, we invited a group of pinners to our headquarters to celebrate today’s announcement. We’ll be sharing photos from the event in a blog post later this week.”

The new Pinterest app for Android is available for download from the Google Play store here while iPad and iPhone owners can pick it up from the iOS store here.
