Gesture-Controlled Laptop Lets You Open Lid at Your Command [Video]

A gestured-controlled laptop, made as a school project by Tobias Soft, a experiment with fun. The project includes that the laptop lid will opens and closes using the servo motor, controlled by using a number of gestures that is registered on the computer.

Also, the laptop can identify the face of the person using the webcam and adjusts the angle of the screen so that the user gets the best and optimized viewing angle.

The software used for the open and close of the lid for the gestured-controlled laptop is written in OpenFrameworks and is communicating with an external servo motor through an Arduino board. The laptop is using its webcam, microphone and a set of capacitive touch sensors built into the body to sense the user.

Though that this idea of having the gestures to open or close the lid, still the experiment is somewhat annoying in the real-world. In the end, its very nice to have a gestured-controlled and motorized laptop. In the video shows the demonstration of the gestured-controlled and motorized laptop.
