Facebook is preparing to launch a new smartphone through HTC, and Instagram will be one of the beneficiaries of the partnership. Specs have been leaked for an HTC device with the code-name “Myst,” that HTC, AT&T, and Facebook are working together to create.

The phone will have a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, have a 4.3-inch with near-Retina resolution, and will run Jelly Bean 4.1.2. TechCrunch writes that although Instagram is popular enough already, “a relatively inexpensive device with the software already onboard is a way for Facebook to target directly the market where it needs to start seeing more growth.”
HTC Myst Facebook Phone Specs:
The leaked specs are listed below.
- 1.5GHz dual-core MSM8960

- 1GB of RAM
- 16GB on-board of storage
- 5MP rear-facing camera

Now, the idea of a Facebook phone has somehow become even more disturbing since the company went public and keeps asking me to promote my own status changes for $8. It’s really annoying.
So are you excited for a Facebook phone?
